Blender shortcuts & tips
Press Shift+A to add anything — meshes, lights, cameras. It's the fastest way to build scenes.
Use G/R/S for Grab, Rotate, Scale. Press X, Y, or Z right after to lock to an axis.
Hold Shift while transforming for fine adjustments, hold Ctrl to snap to increments.
Tab toggles Edit Mode. Press 1, 2, 3 to switch between Vertex, Edge, and Face select.
For Roblox: keep meshes under 10K triangles per part and apply all transforms before exporting.
Always Apply Scale (Ctrl+A → Scale) before exporting to FBX, or your model will import wrong-sized in Studio.
Use the 'Decimate' modifier to quickly reduce poly count without re-modeling.
Smart UV Project (U → Smart UV Project) gives surprisingly clean unwraps for game assets.
Enable 'Auto Save' in Preferences → Save & Load. Set it to every 2 minutes — Blender crashes happen.
Use Collections (M key) to organize your scene like folders. Essential for big projects.
Bake your lighting to textures for Roblox — real-time lighting is expensive in-engine.
The Knife tool (K) lets you cut custom geometry. Press Enter to confirm, Esc to cancel.
