A FREE WORKSHEET FROM ROTALENT

A clearer brief. A better first milestone.

Turn an idea into something a creator can quote and you can review. Work through eight questions, then copy or download a plain-text brief.

    Define the work

The example illustrates scope and tests, not a market price or a promised delivery time.

Write a result you can test

“Make a simulator” leaves too many decisions open. A first milestone could instead let a player collect one item, see a counter change, and spend that item on one upgrade. Name the starting state, the player action, and the result. Ask whether that result can be demonstrated inside the actual Studio place.

For each deliverable, write at least one acceptance check. For a map, walk the route and check collisions at the intended scale. For UI, name the screens and device sizes to review. For a script, describe multiplayer behavior and failure cases as well as the happy path. The creator can then identify missing dependencies before quoting.

    Make exclusions visible

A shop interface, the shop’s server logic, and its promotional artwork are separate pieces of work. Say which ones are included and who supplies the others. Mark reference images as references; they do not automatically grant rights to copy another creator’s work. List purchased or third-party assets and who is responsible for checking their permissions.

When a new feature is requested, update the scope, price, and schedule together. Keep defect corrections distinct from a change of direction. An agreed reference and a written revision allowance make feedback more specific than “make it better.”

Set a practical review and handoff

Choose one person to collect feedback and one person to accept a milestone. Include the review window, timezone, and expected handoff format. Ask for organized source, dependency notes, and the permissions needed to publish or maintain the result. A screenshot or video can show progress, but it does not replace checking the agreed files and behavior.

This worksheet organizes a conversation; it is not a contract, a payment service, or a guarantee. Keep your final agreement and payment record with the project. Review the safety guide and the payment terms actually offered for your deal before transferring money or granting project access.
